Why Train Here?

The instructors at the EMS Training & Research Institute are passionate about EMS. They are healthcare professionals who are actively working in the field. Our paramedics have seen and done it all... they relate personal experiences and teach not just how, but why. As instructors... they act as mentors, encouraging one-on-one interaction. They work to ensure each student's success and can offer career guidance.

As a division of Advanced Medical Transport (AMT), the EMS Training & Research Institute has the unique opportunity to offer students field internships alongside some of the very instructors they learned from in class. Answering an average of 70 calls per day, AMT is the largest and busiest Advanced Life Support (ALS) provider in Central Illinois... meaning our field internships provide the greatest exposure to diverse calls. From rural settings to accidents on the street to crime scenes, students who choose to do their ride-alongs with AMT should be prepared for a gratifying experience.

In the classroom and in the field, our instructors... teach, train and inspire.
