Main Lecture Hall

When students enter the Main Lecture Hall of the EMS Training & Research Institute, any preconceived notions of a traditional classroom atmosphere disappear. This is not one-dimensional learning. This is a cutting-edge, theatre-style learning center... from the tiered seating to the state-of-the-art visual and sound systems. In our Lecture Hall, senses will be awakened. Students will be brought into the moment by the best visual and sound capabilities. Advanced technology will make student-instructor communication instantaneous, and following classroom lectures easy. At the Institute, class is stimulating. Exciting. It's the ultimate learning environment.

Projection Screens. Our center projection screen measures 16' x 9' and is compatible with both full and wide screen formats. The best cinema screen material and a fine surface embossing provide sharp images and accurate colors without color shifting. Two supplemental screens allow instructors to show multiple visuals at the same time (such as a PowerPoint® presentation on the main screen and video on the additional screens). Having the ability to show visuals simultaneously helps instructors further illustrate a point, and students gain better understanding.

Dolby 6.1 Surround Sound. The digital technology of our audio system captivates the students' attention by projecting higher highs, deeper lows and crystal clear voices. Multiple speakers are positioned throughout the Lecture Hall to channel sounds and immerse students in the presentation. A subwoofer mounted in the ceiling intensifies deep bass sounds and sound effects. The overall result is increased drama and quality of the sound presentation.

The Sympodium Lectern. The Sympodium enables dynamic presentations that students can easily follow. An interactive screen connects the instructor's computer to a desktop image, which is displayed on the center screen. With an attached stylus, instructors can write electronic notes, control presentations, add to PowerPoint® content and enhance the lecture — all while facing the class.

AMX Touch Panel. The Lecture Hall's entire system is connected to a sophisticated AMX Touch Panel, which has its own 12" color display monitor and sound. The Touch Panel grants instructors one-touch automation of virtually every function in the room, including projection screens, lighting, sound, as well as all presentations and videos. The monitor shows video feeds prior to projection on the center screen, allowing instructors to prepare a video without interruption of the lecture.

Laptop Computers. Using laptop computers, students can take notes, communicate with the instructor, and closely view a PowerPoint® presentation that appears on the center projection screen. The laptops are wireless, providing convenience and mobility. They are also connected to the Internet for research and loaded with software for EMS training.
