Ambulance Lab

The first of its kind in the state of Illinois, the Ambulance Lab is a full-size, Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance patient compartment located in a large, open-spaced room for training purposes. Fully stocked with functional equipment, the Lab enables students to learn the layout of the ambulance. They can practice working with defibrillators, oxygen, intravenous drips, spinal and traction splints and a variety of drugs for medical and traumatic emergencies.

To make training with the Ambulance Lab as realistic as possible, instructors utilize the Advanced Training Mannequin to create emergency scenarios. On the instructor's cue, students are set in motion. They gain practice loading the mannequin into the ambulance, administering care within a confined space, and simulating radio calls to a hospital. The Ambulance Lab is designed to take students out of the classroom... and onto the streets.
